Na de ambitieuze ‘The Album Tour’ waarmee de tribute act in seizoen 23/24 in meer dan zestig theaterzalen bijzonder hoge ogen gooide en prachtige recensies verdiende, leek het de band tijd om een setlist samen te stellen die “één groot feest der herkenning vormt”, aldus Alexander Broussard, bandleider, zanger en pianist van de groep. 

“Het mooie is, dat je die achtien nummers makkelijk kunt aanvullen met een aantal titels die wél in de Top 2000 aller tijden, maar nooit in de Nederlandse hitparade hebben gestaan. Wij wisten bijvoorbeeld niet dat ‘Just The Way You Are’ tot die laatste categorie behoort.  Maar die hoort natuurlijk wel degelijk in een Greatest-Hits-van-Billy-Joel voorstelling thuis! En datzelfde geldt ook voor ‘The Longest Time’…”

THE BILLY JOEL EXPERIENCE – ‘THE GREATEST HITS IN CONCERT’

18 of Billy Joel’s singles were listed in the Dutch charts! ‘Piano Man,’ ‘She's Always A Woman,’ ’Uptown Girl,’ ‘Goodnight Saigon’ and many more ... All classics that are etched in our collective memory. The men of The Billy Joel Experience came up with the idea to create a new theater show using this impressive list of songs. 

After the ambitious, well-received and highly acclaimed last tour called ‘The Album Tour,’ which ran in more than sixty theaters during the 2023/2024 theater season, the band thought it time to compile a set list that “is a feast of recognition,” says Alexander Broussard, band leader, singer, and pianist of The Billy Joel Experience.

“The great thing is that you can easily supplement those eighteen songs with a number of titles that were in the Top 2000 of all time, but never in the Dutch charts. For example, we did not know that ‘Just The Way You Are’ belongs to the latter category. But of course that song should be part of the show! And the same goes for ‘The Longest Time’ ...”

With the songs from the charts and the remaining songs from the Top 2000 of all time, The Billy Joel Experience brings a full set list suitable for the young, old, diehard fans and for people who just love a great night out with the best music, played by the most passionate club of musicians who are entirely dedicated to ...
